Three swimming pools await you in the outdoor area of the Hotel Waldhof - for (little) children, teenagers, young parents and young-at-heart grandparents. Next to the pool there is our playground with slide, swing, sandpit and much more fun for the little ones.
While the children play, the adults sunbathe on the lawn. From time to time they get up, dip their feet in the water, swim a little, watch their kids having a great time a few meters away, making new friends, inventing new games, beating daddy at table soccer ...
And when the weather is not the best?
In the indoor area of our hotel, our indoor pool awaits you: large, heated, with a whirlpool area - a real peace nest for young and old.
Family Pool highlights outdoors
- Paddling pool for the minis - 3m x 2.6m and 30cm water depth.
- Paddling pool for the midis - 4,5m x 2,5m and 90cm water depth.
- Swimming pool for the maxis - 9m x 4m with bubble and 130cm water depth.
- Playground with slide, swing, sandpit, swing beam, merry-go-round and table soccer.
- Small sunbathing lawn next to the pools with sun loungers and parasols.

Family sauna in our Family Hotel in South Tyrol
In our 4**** Wellness Hotel near Merano, the whole family can unwind.
In the Waldhof family sauna area, mini sauna lovers can join mom and dad in the cozy warmth of the textile saunas, release happy hormones and/or enjoy their first sauna experience - even swimsuit or trunks.
Family Sauna highlights:
- Finnish sauna – also with swimsuit / swim trunks. Textile sauna made of natural apple and serviceberry wood with room for 15 people. Temperature of approx. 85°C and initial low humidity (20%).
- Sole eucalyptus steam bath made in Italy ceramics, floor and wall heating, relaxing light effects and brine eucalyptus nebulization (can be activated every 6 min.). Mild heat (approx. 42°C) with 90% humidity - beneficial for skin and respiratory tract.
- Organic herbal sauna with hay-herbal steam – also with bathing suit/swim trunks. Textile sauna made of Swiss stone pine with benches and loungers. The sauna smells of the alpine herbs lying on the steam generator. Temperature of approx. 60°C with 40% humidity.
- Relaxation room adjacent to the indoor pool with 120 m² of space. Comfortable loungers, dim light and soothing music invite you to relax and inspire new ideas for the coming holiday(s).
- Vitality bar with fine teas from South Tyrolean fruits and herbs, fresh spring water from the Texel Group Nature Park and crisp apples from the Val Venosta Valley.
- Late Night Sauna & Pool – Outside the world goes to sleep, inside the soul wakes up. Treat yourself to some late-night wellness in our pools & saunas every Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30 pm to 10 pm.

To protect the environment, in our wellness area we pay attention to energy consumption and reduce idle times. Upon request at the reception or by calling the Sauna Hotline (Vital bar), we'll be happy to heat up the sauna for you outside the automatic switch-on hours.
Automatic switch-on hours:
- In summer: 5 - 7.30 pm / In winter: 3 - 7.30 pm
- Spontaneously upon request: from 3 pm
- In case of bad weather: from 11 am
